Landscape
Technologies provided landscape architectural services for the proposed
12.4 acre MacKenzie Place development, designed by Rosemann & Associates
Architects. The project, located in Maplewood, Missouri, involved the
redevelopment of an existing partially empty shopping center and posed
several challenges in that a portion of the site fell in an existing
flood plain.
MacKenzie Place
will provide 70 Assisted Living and Memory Care units, 60 Condominium
units and 164 Independent Living Apartments. A water feature, tied in
with storm water treatment elements, will create a large focal point at
the “front door”. Walking paths, bird/butterfly gardens, fragrance
gardens and various outdoor patio “rooms” were created for the
residents’ enjoyment.
Landscape material
includes 235 new trees, 632 shrubs, 357 perennials and over 1700 annuals
and groundcover plants.
