Manchester United Methodist
Church is a 175-year old located at its current location since 1856. An
adjacent, well-maintained cemetery dates back to the 19th
century. The church soon found a need to honor those who have been
cremated and their remains scattered elsewhere.
Landscape Technologies designed a memorial garden in a nearby courtyard
with black granite sitting walls and a memorial wall that allows for
name inscriptions of loved ones. Current drainage problems were
alleviated in the process. This space allows for quiet reflection and
meditation. As with all projects we design, a generous amount of
colorful landscape material has been used. Fragrance and a seasonal
succession of bloom were implemented in this small space.
Construction completion is expected in November, 2001 with landscape
material to be installed in the Spring, 2002.
